Most importantly, homeowner's insurance protects your home by making sure you're covered should something unexpected happen. Without coverage, you risk having to pay in full for replacements or repairs if something happens to your home or personal belongings (like a fire or break in). Your mortgage lender also likely requires that you have homeowner's insurance to be approved for a mortgage loan.
Usually, you'll need to purchase homeowner's insurance before your loan closes. It's important to make sure your homeowner's insurance meets your lenders requirements before closing. When your policy comes up on an annual basis is also a good time to revisit your policy to make sure it still meets your needs and potentially shop around to make sure you have the right coverage at the best price.

Leader Insurance offers several bundle discounts (depending on the insurance company) for auto insurance:

  1. Multi-Car Insurance Discounts

There is a discount for drivers who insure more than one private passenger vehicle with the same insurance company.

  2. Low-Mileage Car Insurance Discounts

The insurance companies Leader Insurance works with currently offer a discount for people who don't put a lot of miles on their automobile each year. To take advantage of this discount you'll simply need to fill out a form each year detailing your odometer reading and have it checked by a representative of the insurance company to verify the reading.

  3. Anti-Theft Car Insurance Discounts

Currently, the companies Leader Insurance partner with represent a discount to those who protect their automobile with an anti-theft device. The discount ranges from 5-35%, depending on the device.

  4. Auto and Homeowners Combination Insurance Discounts

Leader Insurance's partners currently offer an added discount to those who carry their automobile insurance as well as their homeowners insurance, condo insurance, or renters insurance with the same insurance company. The average discount for bundling these is about 20% off each policy.

  5. Passive Restraint System

Factory-installed airbags and automatic seatbelts in your car will make you eligible for a discount on your car insurance.

  7. Good Student Discount

    1. Maintaining a “B” average or equivalent in your prior semester
