Leader Bank Named One of the Top Charitable Contributors in Massachusetts for Third Consecutive Year
Leader Bank, N.A. is pleased to announce that it received a 2019 Corporate Citizenship Award from the Boston Business Journal. This award marked the third consecutive year that Leader Bank was named as one of the largest charitable contributors in Massachusetts. Several Leader Bank representatives were proud to attend a recent reception in South Boston to honor all award recipients. The Boston Business Journal recognized Leader Bank for donating nearly $150,000 in cash and in-kind contributions to a host of Massachusetts charities in 2018, and Leader Bank’s employees and officers donated well over 2,000 hours of their time to local non-profit organizations as well.
“It is a great honor to receive this award for the third year in a row,” said Sushil K. Tuli. “When we founded Leader Bank in 2002, one of the Bank’s key missions was to provide banking and financial support to local neighborhoods at a time that community banks were vanishing from the state. Donating our time, resources and money is a crucial part of that mission and we take our responsibility to be a good corporate citizen very seriously. To receive this award encourages us that the work Leader Bank does is having an impact on those who need assistance the most. We could not be prouder to be a member of this exclusive list along with our fellow Corporate Citizenship Award winners, and thank our employees for their dedication to these worthy causes.”
The 12th Annual Corporate Citizenship Awards recognize businesses and organizations of all sizes who donate at least $100,000 to state charitable organizations in the previous year. Leader Bank’s contributions addressed a variety of local needs, including financial education, support for affordable housing, education and children’s issues, and contributions to key civic organizations.
“This year’s Corporate Charitable Contributors list is the largest the Boston Business Journal has ever assembled,” said Boston Business Journal Market President & Publisher Carolyn Jones. “The philanthropic companies on our list this year are outstanding examples of the impact and importance of giving back.”
